Rappelling-Spring-2010-Lo-r.jpgOne of the “traditional” and original adventure sports, the Shenandoah Mountain Guides climbing program is one of the most respected in the East. We regularly have students travel from places as distant as Maine and Florida to “learn the ropes”, and climb with our staff. Our numerous local crags in the Blue Ridge ensure that our clients are challenged at all levels.

Designed to be an Introductory through Intermediate level program in rock climbing and rappelling, Little Stony Man cliffs provides an unforgettable environment for learning. All required gear is provided.

The instructors/guides average 15 years experience in teaching climbing, are EMTs and are full-time teachers and guides (not seasonal).  They teach the rock climbing classes at regional colleges and universities and on a national level, certifying instructors for various youth organizations. The climbing programs are not extraordinarily physically demanding, but they can be psychologically challenging. All participants should bring a camera for this exciting and unforgettable program!

Rock Climbing & Rappelling is offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but can be booked any weekday with a 3 day advance notice departing from Skyland Resort:
